Elizabeth M. Ross      |      Partner 

Elizabeth Ross is a principal of the firm. Her practice focuses on family law, litigation, collaborative divorce, mediation, and wills and trusts. She regularly practices in several jurisdictions in Northern Virginia including Loudoun County, Fairfax County, Prince William County, as well as Clarke County and the City of Winchester.  

 

As a seasoned litigator, Elizabeth advocates fiercely for her clients to achieve the best possible outcome in their case. She is also a problem-solver and counselor, who can offer alternative dispute resolution methods including negotiation, mediation and collaborative divorce, whenever possible for her clients. 

 

A Northern Virginia resident for over 30 years, Elizabeth has been practicing in the field of family law for over 20 years. Community service is an important part of her career. She has served on the board of the Virginia Women’s Attorney Association since 2017, including as President of the VWAA Loudoun Chapter for 2022-2023.  Previously, she volunteered with the Loudoun County Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar Special Committee on Lawyer Referral. As a member of the Junior League of Northern Virginia from 2006-2017, Elizabeth served in many leadership roles including on the board of directors. 

 

Elizabeth spends most of her weekends volunteering as a girl scout leader for her daughters’ troops, or cheering on the sidelines at the softball field and basketball court. 

 

Elizabeth has been named a SuperLawyer for Northern Virginia from 2016 to 2023, and was listed as a SuperLawyers Rising Star for Northern Virginia from 2010 to 2015. She has achieved a rating of “Superb” on the AVVO.com web site.

Spencer S. Beckman          Partner

Spencer Beckman is a principal of the firm. His primarily focus is family law, criminal law, and personal injury cases in the Northern Virginia area (including Loudoun County, Fairfax, Prince William, Clarke, and Frederick Counties and the City of Winchester). He is admitted to practice in all Virginia Courts.

 

Spencer is a Loudoun County native, born in Leesburg, Virginia and raised in Chantilly, Virginia. He attended the University of Tennessee where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and graduated summa cum laude. After completing his undergraduate education, he moved to South Carolina to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law.

 

While in law school, Spencer was a member editor of the Southeastern Environmental Law Journal, a mentor in the peer mentor program, and a member of Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. After graduation, he worked as a public defender at the Richland County Public Defender’s Office in Columbia, South Carolina. 

 

As a public defender, Spencer managed a caseload of over 250 clients with charges ranging from Simple Possession of Marijuana to Murder. He handled numerous jury trials, and was mentioned in The Washington Post for his representation of a national political candidate in 2010. Spencer moved back to Northern Virginia in 2010 and began practicing family and criminal law in Fairfax, Virginia shortly thereafter.  

Spencer has been named a SuperLawyer Rising Star for Northern Virginia from 2016 to 2019 and a Super Lawyer from 2020 to 2023.
